LEXINGTON, Ky. -- On Feb. 2, South Carolina was 4-3 in the SEC and thinking it had a chance. The Gamecocks wouldn't be going to the NCAA tournament without a miraculous run, but at least a berth in some kind of postseason tournament certainly seemed possible. All they had to do was find what worked so well in wins over Florida and Vanderbilt.
