The Michigan defense was a horror show during Rich Rodriguez's three-year tenure as head coach. But second-year head coach Brady Hoke has brought a new tougher mindset to Ann Arbor and the results are showing on the field. The pass defense has been remarkably better, rising over 100 spots in the NCAA rankings, and the run defense is much improved as well.
