Scott Hood
GamecockCentral.com Freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia was arrested by Columbia police late Friday night outside of the Knock Knock Club in Five Points for failure to stop on police command and drunkenness.
According to published reports, police were responding to an incident at the Club when an office approached Garcia for questioning. It is uncertain whether Garcia was connected to the event that brought the police there.
Garcia allegedly fled the scene and refused to stop when commanded to do so by the officer. Police alleged Garcia was "publicly drunk".
Garcia was detained late Friday night at the Richland County Detention Facility on Bluff Road. A bond hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday.
More details will be released when they become available.
