South Carolina practiced Sunday afternoon at the Bluff Road Proving Grounds and Gamecock Central was there. A complete practice report with video will follow shortly.
Defensive backs coach Grady Brown said free safety Chris Moody has moved to the spur linebacking position and has been there about a week, adding depth to the position along with backups Kyle Fleetwood and Mohamed Camara and starting candidates Sharrod Golightly and Jordan Diggs.
Brown also confirmed that freshman Jamari Smith has moved up the depth chart to the number four cornerback position behind starters Victor Hampton and Jimmy Legree and top backup Ahmad Christian.
Defensive end Chaz Sutton said his foot feels great and he's ready to play Thursday at full speed. As one of just four scholarship seniors, Sutton said he's thought about transferring in the past but is glad he stuck it out and is ready to have the biggest season of his life.
At his press conference earlier in the day, Spurrier said tight end Rory "Busta" Anderson was still hobbled and likely would not be available for Thursday's game. Bruce Ellington (hamstring) and Jerell Adams (twisted ankle), however, should be ready to go for North Carolina, but neither practiced Sunday afternoon.
INJURY REPORT: Besides Ellington and Adams, also missing practice or in yellow jerseys Sunday were Carlton Heard (hamstring), Devin Washington (concussion), Gerald Turner (ankle sprain), Cedrick Cooper (dislocated left elbow), James King (right foot) Cody Gibson (knee), Mike Matulis (shoulder) and Kyle Morini (dislocated elbow).d
