South Carolina practiced Monday evening at the Bluff Road Proving Grounds and Gamecock Central was there. A complete practice report with video will follow shortly.
It looks like more bad news for Bruce Ellington. After returning to practice in full pads Sunday, Ellington re-tweaked his hamstring and on Monday night was back in a yellow jersey and shorts. While Ellington said he'd be evaluated on a daily basis and hoped to play Thursday, it appears doubtful he would, as the coaching staff is in no rush to permanently injure their leading returning receiver.
Offensive tackle Brandon Shell said he's in the best shape of his life and expressed the utmost confidence in his offensive line.
Quarterback Connor Shaw told reporters he's "giddy" about Thursday's game, as are his teammates and the students on campus. He also said it's the first time in his career that the running back position has had the depth it now has.
Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott said he was confident in the five starters he's sending out against the Tar Heels and in any of his young backups should they have to play.
INJURY REPORT: Besides Ellington, also missing practice or in yellow jerseys Monday were Carlton Heard (hamstring), Devin Washington (concussion), Gerald Turner (ankle sprain), Cedrick Cooper (dislocated left elbow), James King (right foot) Cody Gibson (knee), Mike Matulis (shoulder) and Kyle Morini (dislocated elbow).
UP NEXT: South Carolina has a walk-through tomorrow in advance of Thursday's game. There is no media availability after tomorrow's practice.
