ATHENS - There weren't too many to give out in a 41-30 loss by No. 6 South Carolina to No. 11 Georgia, but here were some well-desverved ones:
Nick Jones: Jones had two terrific touchdown passes in the first half to help South Carolina claw back from a 17-3 deficit, His first half stats were 4 catches for 70 yards and those two grabs of 18 and 30 yards. He finished the game with 6 catches for 97 yards.
Connor Shaw: Shaw accounted for 156 of USC's 233 first-half yards with 114 through the air and another 48 on the ground. After looking like the road-Shaw of old, the senior settled into a comfort zone passing the ball and was 9-of-13 for the first half with two scores. He finished the game strong, going 16-for-25 passing for 228 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 82 yards on 16 carries.
T.J. Gurley: After leading the team in tackles against North Carolina with nine, strong safety T.J. Gurley had eight in the first half alone. He finished the game with 11, one behind team-leader Kaiwan Lewis.
Tyler Hull Hull, coming into the game dead last in the SEC in punting average at 33.2, boomed a 48-yarder on his first attempt and a 44-yarder on his only other attempt to finish with a 46-yard average.
Mike Davis Impressed everyone by rushing for 149 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown and was about a half-inch away from a second one. He averaged 9.3 yards per rush and has firmly put his name in the mix of the elite running backs of the SEC.
