Steve Spurrier begins his Kentucky week press conference:
Looking forward to playing UK. Mark Stoops is new coach. Offense has struggled. Defense has been fine.
Spurrier wants students staying until the end and singing the alma matter.
USC pretty healthy. Shaw might be able to play v. UK. Spurrier not sure who will start. Shaw is healthier than expected.
Must play better defense. Close to "blowing" a couple of games - Vandy and UCF.
SOS knows Stoops family pretty well. Faced Stoops when USC played FSU in CFA Bowl in 2010.
Writer asks about Bob Steeps. SOS reminds him he's facing Mark Stoops.
Practices may lighten up as far as physical practices is concerned. More about coaching than anything else.
Fumble by Davis "almost erased" all the yards he gained in 2H at UCF.

Dylan is ready to play and he had a good practice on Mon. night. He didn't throw the ball particularly well at UCF.
Roland is suspended for three games in all. He will return for Tennessee game.
USC has a lot of work to do on special teams.
USC's biggest problem on D is lining up and playing fundamentally sound. Good athletes, but don't always play smart.

No reply from SEC office as to why refs picked up flag on UCF TD in 4Q. Williams was penalized for hitting a "defenseless" player, but reinstated because not a helmet 2 helmet hit.

USC forced 4 turnovers in last game. That's what good defensss do.
Why high-scoring games in SEC? Lot of passing and defenses are having trouble scoring.
