No. 14 South Carolina practiced Wednesday afternoon at the Bluff Road Proving Grounds and Gamecock Central was there. A complete practice report with video will follow shortly.
Jadeveon Clowney returned to practice Wednesday, though he is still questionable for the Arkansas game.
Everette Sands said running back Brandon Wilds was coming along well and is two to three weeks away from a return.
Steve Spurrier Jr. said wide receiver Kane Whitehurst, an Arkansas transfer, would get the opportunity to play Saturday. He also said Damiere Byrd has done well lately with more opportunities to play.
Shawn Elliott said his offensive line has blocked the run well this year but that he still thinks they've left a lot of yards out on the field.
Quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus said Connor Shaw's leadership and toughness no longer surprise him and that the running game has been a big reason the offense has been as consistent as it has along with Shaw's accuracy throwing the football. He also said Shaw's dangerousness as a running threat is always a thorn in opposing defensive coordinators' sides.
INJURY REPORT: Missing practice or in yellow jerseys Wednesday were Devin Washington (concussion), Kaiwan Lewis (infection) and Mike Matulis (shoulder)
UP NEXT: South Carolina will practice tomorrow (Thursday).
