No. 14 South Carolina practiced Tuesday afternoon at the Bluff Road Proving Grounds and Gamecock Central was there. A complete practice report with video will follow shortly.
As Steve Spurrier mentioned at his press conference earlier in the day, Connor Shaw was still sick and did not practice Tuesday afternoon nor attend practice. As Spurrier also mentioned, Brandon Wilds did participate in practice in pads but was in a yellow non-contact jersey.
Ronald Patrick returned to the yellow jersey he wore last week during practice and will likely continue to take it easy during the week as he heals his ankle enough to play on Saturdays.
Defensive backs coach Grady Brown said that Chaz Elder is healthy now but still needs to get back to the mental sharpness he had before his concussion.
Linebackers coach Kirk Botkin said Kaiwan Lewis played more on Saturday against Missouri instead of T.J. Holloman was because of a knee injury that caused Gurley to miss two days of practice last week rather than anything else. Botkin also said the battle between Marcquis Roberts and Skai Moore at the Will linebacker position is closer than ever, with both players performing well and Botkin essentially going with whomever has the hot hand during games.
INJURY REPORT: Missing practice or in yellow jerseys Tuesday besides Shaw and Wilds were Gerald Dixon Jr. (knee sprain), Cody Waldrop (ankle), Devin Washington (concussion) and Mike Matulis (shoulder).
UP NEXT: South Carolina will practice tomorrow afternoon.
