Quick practice recap
ORLANDO, Fla. - No. 8 South Carolina practiced Saturday morning at Celebration High School, the Gamecocks' last practice of the 2013 season, and Gamecock Central was there. A complete practice report with video will follow shortly.
Connor Shaw was requested by nearly every media outlet present for an interview and walked past reporters and USC media personnel without stopping, waving off attempts to get him to speak about his final collegiate game.
Special teams coach Joe Robinson said the depth chart for his unit remains the same with Pharoh Cooper returning kickoffs and Victor Hampton returning punts, though Cooper could see some punt return duty.
Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott said he'd wait until the last minute to decide who the starting center will be for the game between Clayton Stadnik and Cody Waldrop. He also said this is the healthiest his unit has been this season and with the deepest depth of any point in his four-year USC career.
Bruce Ellington said he also submitted his NFL paperwork and will wait to see what his report looks like when he gets it back to decide whether or not to come back next season. He said once he got the information he'd sit down with his family and make a decision. He's already graduated and is playing his final season of eligibility in basketball. Ellington said he didn't have a specific return date right now to rejoin the basketball team.
Running backs coach Everette Sands said Mike Davis will start and that Brandon Wilds and Shon Carson essentially are 2A and 2B, noting that all three backs likely will play against a physical Wisconsin front.
INJURY REPORT: No injuries were reported Saturday.
