Seastrunk rates visit off the chart
The Oregon Ducks face a huge challenge on January 1st against Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. But mixed in with everything in college football nowadays is recruiting. As the Ducks proceeded with their second week of preparation for the Buckeyes, they also continued to bring in official visitors. This past weekend included the #1 rated running back in the nation, Lache Seastrunk.
Devotees of Oregon recruiting know the Ducks have one verbal commitment at running for the Class of 2010. Aldine, Texas standout Dontae Williams made his pledge in the middle of November. The Ducks appear to be poised to bring in more than one at this position, and the field of candidates is short but illustrious. 5-star Marcus Lattimore intends to give Oregon a serious look, as does a national level back currently committed elsewhere.
Duck Sports Authority caught up with Lache Seastrunk while observing the offensive half of the field and got his thoughts.
"It's nice," Seastrunk said. "I like the way they run the offense. It really opens you up and puts you in space. I really like this offense. I also like Coach Kelly, he's very offensive minded."
Traveling on an official visit in December can be risky business weather-wise. In addition, the students are out of school until after Christmas, meaning an empty campus and no football game to watch. None of that was an issue for Seastrunk as everything seemed to suit the Temple, Texas star just fine.
