Gray focusing on three

Stonewall, La., three-star defensive end Hakim Gray has focused his recruitment down this summer to three schools.

Two of those schools - Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech - have offered while LSU has not to date.

"I like this school right here (Mississippi State) and I want to go to LSU in July," Gray said. "I think that would be good for me. I really like it here (MSU) and at Louisiana Tech. Those three schools are my top."

Gray also has offers from Grambling, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, Northwestern State, Southern Miss and Tulane.

Recently Gray visited Mississippi State's campus for camp and enjoyed his time working with defensive line coach and coordinator Chris Wilson.

"Coach wanted me to come out here and show my skills a little bit," Gray said. "I came out here and showed what I can do. This was my first trip up here. I like it here. They've got nice facilities and a lot of good, good coaches up here. The defensive line coach is kind of like my coach so it was pretty fun for me."

Last season Gray dominated at North DeSoto High School racking up 65 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and nine sacks while helping lead the Griffins to a 4-7 record and a berth in the Class 3A State Playoffs.
