Hesse is a jack of all trades

What type of player are the Hawkeyes trying to land in Waukon linebacker Parker Hesse? We caught up with his high school coach, Chad Beerman, and talked to him about the qualities that this senior has shown to receive an in-season offer from Iowa. Read what Coach Beerman had to say right here.

Q: What type of player is he?

BEERMAN: Parker has sort of been the jack of all trades. Last year they used him as a running back, wide receiver, and quarterback. This year, he is at quarterback on offense. On defense, he can be a rush end or a strong safety type guy that can drop into coverage. Wherever we need him, he can play.

Q: What type of athlete is Parker overall?

BEERMAN: He'll be a four year letterwinner in everything but football and he'll be a three year letterwinner in football so he is a good all around athlete. He is a good baseball player, good in track, and an outstanding basketball player.

Q: What type of leader is Parker?

BEERMAN: He is probably the most vocal of all the seniors. He attended all of the 7-on-7 and got everyone in to work. He was the first one to grasp what we wanted to do with our new offense. He picked it up quickly and helped the other kids understand and get lined up. He is another coach on the field.
