Virginia Tech had plenty of visitors in Blacksburg on Saturday for the game against Miami. A number of prospects didn't make the trip, one of those was 2009 linebacker Hawatha Bell out of Matthews (N.C.) Butler.

"I wasn't able to make it to Virginia Tech," he said. "We weren't able to go in time. Instead, I watched the game with Eddie (Whitley) and Jarrett (Boykin) on television. It was fun."

Virginia Tech is one of the schools looking hard at the junior. How big of a factor is it that two of his teammates are heading to Tech?

"For both of them to go there from the same school," he said. "It shows how many good players we have here at Butler in the area of Matthews. It also does increase my interest in them.

"Two players from my team are there. There must be something about that school that sticks out that they like so much. They both tell me that the coaches are great there and they are interested in their players. They take really good care of them. I like that."

Bell confirmed he does plan to take more visits, but doesn't have any planned in the near future.

Currently Bell claims one scholarship.
