Georgia continues to look for playmakers during the evaluation period and they found another this week. Georgia visited Ashbrook High School to offer one of the top receivers in the country.
"Georgia talked to my coach on Monday and that is when they told him they were going to offer me," said Boyd. "Coach [Mike] Briggs is my head coach and he gave me the news after he talked to Georgia."
The Bulldog coach that Coach Briggs talked to was at the Ashbrook practice on Tuesday.
"Coach Mike Bobo was the one that offered me and he came out to watch me on Tuesday. He stayed out there watching me during the whole practice and that was cool."
The attention from UGA has been on and off, but now the 6-foot-2, 184-pound receiver has their full attention.
"At first they seemed interested in me back in my junior season, but then they did not offer, so I did not think they were really interested. They sent me a lot of mail and letters back then, but I had not talked to them or anything."
"Then my coach told me they were coming this week, so I thought they might be interested in me. I did not think they were going to offer me though, but I am glad that they did. I thought might just want to look at me or something, so I was a little surprised by the offer."
The Rivals100 athlete out of Gastonia (N.C.) has not been to Athens yet, but he has a little knowledge of the Georgia program.
