Florida TE close to a decision?

With a bye week on the schedule, the Iowa coaching staff hit the road this weekend to do some recruiting, including in the state of Florida. Assistant coach Rick Kaczenski was in the Tampa area on Friday night to check out Justin Lattimore, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound tight end from Gaither High School.

Iowa joins Ball State, Miami of Ohio, Florida International, and Florida Atlantic, among others, on Lattimore's list of scholarship offers. The tight end, who says the Hawkeyes are now at the top of his list, is excited about the chance to play in the Big Ten.

Playing in a primarily run-based offense, Lattimore leads his team with 18 receptions for 338 yards and two touchdowns through eight games so far this year. Currently 4-4 on the season, Gaither has a bye week coming up, which will give the tight end a chance to check out Iowa in person on November 15.
