Tajh Boyd Likes Rocky Top Trip

Tennessee didn't have a huge number of official visitors in the stands this weekend, but the Vols did host a trio of big names in the Class of 2009. One of those was Hampton, Va. quarterback Tajh Boyd, one of the top-rated dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation and a high priority in the Vols' current recruiting efforts.

Boyd (6-foot-0, 208 pounds) was one of the first names on the Vols' quarterback recruiting board last spring, but committed to West Virginia during the summer. He has since has backed off that pledge and with Tennessee no longer holding a commitment from California quarterback Josh Nunes, things started to happen between the two parties in the last month.

It didn't take long for Boyd to get a phone call from the Vols after Nunes' decision to de-commit and that phone call led to a hastily arranged official visit for this past weekend.
