Quick practice recap
No. 11 South Carolina practiced Thursday afternoon at the Bluff Road Proving Grounds and Gamecock Central was there. A complete practice report with video will follow shortly.
The injury list grew from three - Cody Waldrop (ankle), Devin Washington (concussion) and Mike Matulis (shoulder) - to eight with the additions of Bruce Ellington (ankle, in a boot); Ronald Patrick (high ankle sprain, in a boot); Brandon Wilds (elbow, in a brace); Skai Moore (concussion); Chaz Elder (concussion).
Of those, Ellington, Moore and Elder could play on Saturday against Tennessee depending on how they heal this week, Steve Spurrier said earlier in the day.
Defensive line coach Deke Adams said despite having just two tackles against Arkansas, Jadeveon Clowney graded out at 91 percent against the Razorbacks, as they only ran toward him four times. He also said he thought Kelcy Quarles played better than his zero-tackle state sheet would indicate. He did say he believed Chaz Sutton would say he's left a lot of plays on the field this season.
Jimmy Legree said he was pleased with how the defense rebounded to play against Arkansas but that he still feels as though the team hasn't played four full quarters of football yet.
Defensive backs coach Grady Brown said he was pleased with the performance of Chaz Elder, who started over Brison Williams Saturday in Fayetteville. He said is Elder is healthy Saturday, he'll play again.
