SEC Team Notes:
* Georgia's Charles Mann, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound sophomore guard from Alpharetta, Ga., was named SEC Player of the Week after averaging 20 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in wins at Missouri and against Alabama. Mann had team scoring honors in both of Georgia's wins last week, helping the Bulldogs to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2002. He played 42 of a possible 45 minutes in the overtime win at 21st-ranked Missouri, scoring the last two of his team-high 18 points with 34 seconds left in overtime, putting Georgia ahead for good. He scored 22 points in Georgia's home win over Alabama, including 14 in the second half. Mann made 13 of 18 foul shots in the game; his 18 attempts were the fourth most in UGA history and most by a Georgia player in 10 years.
* South Carolina's Sindarius Thornwell, a 6-foot-5, 206-pound freshman guard from Lancaster, S.C., was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists against 10th-ranked Florida and LSU. Thornwell shot 66.7 percent (12-18) from the field in posting 10 points at Florida, and a season high 25 points against LSU on Saturday. He was a perfect 2-of-2 from 3-point range against Florida while collecting three steals to match his season high. Against LSU, Thornwell scored a season best 25 points, including 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting in the first half.
* Florida's Patric Young, Missouri's Earnest Ross, Tennessee's Jordan McRae, Missouri's Jordan Clarkson and LSU's Andre Stringer have each reached the 1,000 career point milestone this season. Alabama's Trevor Releford reached the mark last season and currently is the active leading scorer in the league with 1,554 career points.
* Florida (24), and Kentucky (17) own some of the longest homecourt winning streaks in the nation.
* Three active SEC coaches are the all-time winningest coach at their institution - Florida's Billy Donovan, Ole Miss' Andy Kennedy and Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings.
* Alabama's Trevor Releford is averaging 21.3 points and 4.5 steals over his last four games.
* Arkansas posted its most non-conference wins since 2008-09 (12-1).
* Auburn's Chris Denson scored 28 points in the SEC-opener against Ole Miss. It is the fifth time this season he has scored 20+ points.
* Florida's Casey Prather entered his senior season averaging 3.1 points per game but has increased that to 17.0 as a senior.
* Georgia earned its 500th all-time SEC win on Saturday against Alabama.
* Kentucky freshman Julius Randle is third in the nation in double-doubles (9) and is 11th in rebounding (10.9).
* LSU has scored at least 80 points in six of its first 14 games.
* Ole Miss' Marshall Henderson hit a school-record10 3-pointers against Oregon and ranks second in the nation averaging 4.4 3-ptrs per game.
* Mississippi State is averaging 9.5 steals per game.
* Missouri has been ranked each season under Frank Haith despite having just one starter back each of the last two years.
* South Carolina's Brenton Williams saw his school record streak of 50 consecutive free throws made end against LSU on Jan. 10. That ties for the longest streak in SEC history.
* Tennessee's Jarnell Stokes celebrated his 20th birthday with a 15 point/15 rebound performance at LSU on Jan. 7.
* Texas A&M's Alex Caruso dished out an SEC-high 11 assists in the Aggie's league opener.
* Vanderbilt's Rod Odom registered his first career double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the SEC opener against Alabama.
