Allen-Williams selected to Football Leadership Council

South Carolina rising senior linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams has been selected as USC's representative for the first SEC Football Student-Athlete Leadership Council.

One student-athlete per member institution has been selected to represent their respective teams. Commissioner Greg Sankey introduced the council in 2016 to "provide student-athletes with additional opportunities to engage with campus leaders and conference office staff", according to the SEC.

Allen-Williams and the group will hold its first meeting on February 4 at the SEC's headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. This council, along with the SEC Men's and Women's Basketball Leadership Council and the SEC Student-Athlete Advisory Committe, "serve as a conduit of communication to the conference office on issues related to student-athlete experience and student-athlete wellness. The groups also provide feedback on proposed rules governing the SEC and NCAA," according to the SEC.
