Columbia (S.C.) Richland Northeast three-star linebacker T.J. Brunson has been committed to Louisville since July, but following a recent visit by South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp, Brunson is looking around.
"I'm still committed to Louisville, but I am opening my recruitment back up," Brunson said.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Brunson took an official visit to Louisville two weekends ago.
He then met with Muschamp on Monday when the Gamecocks' new coach made quite an impression by going straight from his introductory press conference to Brunson's high school to reaffirm a South Carolina offer to him.
"That's sort of a big deal to go straight out of a press conference and go recruiting and then that they came to me, I thought that was really cool," Brunson said. "It shows what they think about me and how much they want me."
"He told me that he wanted to coach me. He extended an offer to me from the current staff. It was cool because he did it."
Brunson, who is considered the No. 14 prospect in the state, is planning a South Carolina official visit for the Jan. 15 weekend.
Brunson says that he's open to all schools that are recruiting him, which includes South Carolina, Louisville and Purdue.
