Case against Blackshear dismissed

The case against South Carolina class of 2015 defensive end signee Shameik Blackshear was dismissed on Tuesday morning, according to a Tweet from The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette's sports department.

The former Bluffton High standout was originally accused of stealing a purse and safe from a Mill Creek home Feb. 7, according to a Bluffton Police Department spokesman.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Blackshear was ranked a four-star prospect by Rivals.com. Blackshear is considered the No. 5 prospect in the state of South Carolina's 2015 class and the No. 18 defensive end in his class.
Blackshear is scheduled to enroll at South Carolina this summer.
