Coach speak: Hamsah has comfort level at South Carolina

"I think at the end of the day, he felt really, really comfortable with coach (Will) Muschamp and coach (Travaris Robinson)," Concord defensive coordinator Matt Jenkins told Gamecock Central. "He really felt like that they can help development him into a player that can potentially play at the next level. That they can help prepare him as a person. And the fact that it's in the SEC and still relatively close to home. I think that proximity really played a part in his decision as well. I think he believes that Coach Muschamp can turn the program around. He's got it going in the right direction and I think that's something that's intriguing to him and that he wants to be part of."

Jenkins, who helped Nasirildeen navigate the recruiting process and traveled with him on multiple visits, says the opportunity to work with the Gamecocks' head coach at camp in Columbia and a UNCC satellite camp was important to the four-star prospect. Nasirildeen was able to work with his potential future position coach at all of his finalists, but he did take notice of the extra attention from a head coach.
