Latta (S.C.) OL Donell Stanley
"It was different to stay the whole weekend with every teammate and everyone coming in and some that haven't committed yet. I got to get know how everybody acts and what everybody is like. It was just fun the whole weekend."
On host AJ Cann: "He was giving us good advice about what practices, classes, and what everybody is like. We just hung out and he showed is around a lot."
On future coach Shawn Elliott: "He said to enjoy myself. He said it was going to be a laid back weekend and just get a feel for what the environment will be like. It was good."
On future head coach Steve Spurrier: "He was just thanking everybody for coming. He was telling us to be prepared for this summer coming in and that we're going to have a lot of fun and we'll get to work and try to bring something that this place hasn't had before, an SEC Championship."
On Gamecock target Dexter Wideman: "I was talking with Dexter. We were a good pairing at Shrine Bowl, so that will be good going against him in practice every day, us whipping each other. I think he might come around."
Dillon (S.C.) FB Joe Blue
"They rolled out the red carpet for us. Everything was great. I got to see what all goes on when I do get here. I loved it all. It was great."
On the other commits and targets: I liked getting to know them well. We have to get to know each other before we do anything. That bond will help us for the next couple years. I think (Wideman) will be here sooner or later. I think the guys from Atlanta and Florida will be here."
On his future position: "I'm most likely going to play fullback They are going to give me a chance to play some defense but they want to see where I'm at and which position fits me. I will start out playing fullback and we will see from there. I don't have any problem with it. You can put me anywhere and I'm going to play. I'm just looking forward to it."
On Spurrier: "He told me that they are going to give me a chance to play when I get here. He said that their fullback broke his leg so I will have a chance to play. He said to make sure that I finish this year out strong in school."
Fleming Island (Fla.) QB Michael Scarnecchia
"It was real fun. We went out Friday night and had dinner. We went out with some of the players and hung out for the night. We saw some of the town and that stuff. We played some games on Saturday and went to the basketball game. There were a lot of people there. It was real fun. It was good hanging with the players and getting to know them more. We all exchanged numbers and are going to keep in contact and try to get these other recruits. It is going to be fun. I didn't know everything was this nice. After seeing it all, this is probably going to be the best four years of my life. It is going to be a lot of hard work but it is going to be fun."
"We actually watched some stuff from the Wisconsin game and went over some of the stuff they are going to be talking about, like the lingo they use for the plays and formations. They are just going to ease me into their system. I will redshirt my first year because they have Dylan (Thompson). My second year here, hopefully I can get that starting job and beat out the other guys."
"I hung out with Perry Orth. He was my host for the weekend and we also hung out with (Brendan) Nosovitch and two other linemen. We were all cool. They said they were going to take me in when I get up here. I like all of the commits. They are all good guys. We are going to have a really good class. Hopefully we will be the next senior class that has the most wins in USC history."
Bamberg (S.C) Bamberg-Ehrhardt TE Kevin Crosby:
"It went good, had a lot of fun. I got to see a lot of things I had not seen.
On future position: "It's definitely h-back I'll be playing. I talked to Scotty (Spurrier). I feel good. We've been building a relationship since I've been coming down here so I feel real comfortable around those guys. It does (fit) because I know I'm not the traditional tight end that's 6-6, 6-5, but I can use my height to my advantage. They want me to come in and play that role (like Pat DiMarco). We really just hung out, just talked about the future, winning the SEC and winning the national championship."
On host Mike Davis: "It was fun. Everybody always talks about Mike and what type of person he was. I never really got to hang out with Mike but these two days getting to know Mike, I became really close to him."
Summerville (S.C.) CB Darin Smalls
"It went pretty good. I met more of the recruits, got closer with them and built a relationships with former players, new teammates and all that stuff."
On spending time with other DB prospects: "Me and DJ (Smith) spent more time trying to get them to commit already. I think we can go all the way with the four of us on the field at the same time."
On talking to future coaches: "I was talking to coach Grady Brown and Coach Lorenzo Ward. It was just talking corner, nickel back, strong safety, free safety, strong safety and moving around a lot. I'm cool with whatever I can do to help out."
