Commitment spotlight: Gipson forces turnovers in big win
Each week, the Spotlight takes a special look at South Carolina commitment or target who had an especially good game the previous week.
Mill Creek (Ga) beat Duluth (Ga) 56-7 to improve to 7-3 as South Carolina defensive back commit Jonathan Gipson had five tackles, two interceptions, and two pass deflections.
Gamecock Central's Take: Jonathan Gipson isn't the most talked about prospect in South Carolina's 2018 commit class, but he maybe should be a bit more. Gipson had a huge early offer list and is the type of safety that Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson love due to his physical mentality as an enforcer in his defense. Gipson could potentially play some cornerback too for the Gamecocks and Carolina often crosstrains its DBs between the two positions, but I think ultimately Gipson is a big-hitting, rangy safety in college.
