Current No. 18: DE Keir Thomas and QB Danny Garrison
A freshman who enrolled early for spring practice, defensive end Keir Thomas projects to play in his first season in the program.
The Miami (Fla.) Miami Central standout appears to be firmly in the Gamecocks rotation after an extremely productive career as a pass rusher in high school.
Thomas was ranked the No. 23 strongside defensive end in the country by Rivals.com.
Danny Gordon is a transfer from Miami (Ohio) who joined the squad when the rosters expanded in 2015. He will be eligible this fall for the first time at South Carolina.
Former No. 18: Steve Taneyhill
An all-time fan favorite, quarterback Steve Taneyhill is now the owner of Steve Taneyhill's Group Therapy in Five Points.
Prior to that and his time as a successful head coach at Chesterfield and Union County, Taneyhill was best known for his brash style, his mullet and throwing touchdowns.
The Altoona (Penn.) native threw for 8,555 yards and 61 touchdowns from 1992-95.
