Current No. 25: A.J. Turner
After taking a redshirt last season, running back A.J. Turner produced a strong spring as he climbed towards the top of the depth chart and finished second only to David Williams by the end.
With the staff asking for more from Williams, Turner actually took the first snaps at running back in Saturday's open portion of practice and projects to play quite a bit this season. Turner is a term first guy and hard worker. On the field, he's an elusive runner with vision.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Clifton, Va. native was ranked the No. 44 running back in the country by Rivals.com out of high school and chose the Gamecocks over Virginia and Michigan State, among a host of offers.
