Talley is a former walk-on running back who earned a scholarship before the 2015 season. The 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back transferred from Gardner-Webb to South Carolina in January 2014 to start play in the 2015 season. He played significantly on special teams last season.

With the team's leading rusher Brandon Wilds graduating, Talley is expected to compete for carries along with David Williams, A.J. Turner and Mon Denson.

Former No. 32: Kevin Long

Kevin Long is on a list of all-time great Gamecock running backs. He came to Columbia in 1972 and before he left in 1975 he'd complied 2,372 rushing yards. He's tenth all-time in rushing yards. He was the first South Carolina back to register a 1,000-yard season, and his 1,133 yards in 1975 are still fifth in school history.

Long was drafted in the seventh round by the Jets and played with them until 1981. He transitioned to the USFL, where he played three seasons with the Chicago Blitz and the Arizona Wranglers.

He was inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame in 2002.
