Current No. 33: David Williams

Williams is a redshirt junior running back expected to shoulder a heavy rushing load this year after the departure of Brandon Wilds. Williams redshirted his freshman year in 2013 before running for 256 yards in nine games in his sophomore season. Last year he played in all 12 games—including four starts—and was the Gamecocks' third-leading rusher with 299 yards.

In his third year on campus, he's the senior-most rusher and expected to be the starter and go-to back.

Former No. 33: Brandon Bennett

Bennett will go down as one of the all-time great rushers in school history, behind maybe only George Rogers and Marcus Lattimore. Bennett came onto the scene at South Carolina in 1991, and before he left in 1994 he'd rushed for almost 3,000 yards and scored 28 total touchdowns (26 rushing).

To this day, his name is still plastered over the record books. He's second all-time in career rushing and all purpose yards, behind only George Rogers and still holds the record for rushing yards in a game with 278 yards. Bennett's even No. 12 all-time in receptions at South Carolina.

He scored the game-winning touchdown against Georgia 1993, going over the top of the pile to score, marking one of the most famous touchdowns in Gamecock history.

The All-SEC back was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 1995 and had a nine-year career spanning six teams. Bennett was inducted to South Carolina's Hall of Fame in 2004, the same year he retired from the NFL.
