Davidson commits

South Carolina's 2014 class received a big boost on Tuesday with the addition of four-star wide receiver Shaq Davidson.
Davidson announced for South Carolina during a ceremony at his high school shortly after 6 p.m.

The Gaffney product is ranked by Rivals.com as the 12th-best receiver prospect in the country and the second-best prospect in the Palmetto State. He is also a member of the 2014 Rivals100.
Davidson played quarterback most of last season for Gaffney and helped lead to the Indians to a state championship.
Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee and Wake Forest were among the other major programs to extend scholarship offers to Davidson.
Davidson is the ninth commitment of the 2014 class for South Carolina and the fifth four-star prospect by Rivals.com.
