Decision day for Westwood CB Cameron Smith

Decision day has arrived for Blythewood (S.C.) Westwood class of 2019 four-star cornerback Cameron Smith.

Smith's Westwood team opens its season in a home game tonight at 7:30 against Lugoff-Elgin High.

Smith, who has narrowed his list of schools down to South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee, is expected to announce his decision following the game.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder says he'll take off his pads after the game to reveal the shirt of the program he's selecting and directed fans to tune to his Instagram account.

Smith holds offers from those three programs plus Florida State, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Maryland among many others.

Smith, who transferred back to the Columbia area this past offseason after spending a few years in Maryland, saw his recruitment take off this spring as coaches put eyes on the rangy cover corner and he quickly became a national prospect.

Tennessee offered in the spring while South Carolina and Georgia offered during June camp stops.

Smith gave his thoughts on all three schools during a July interview at the Rivals Five-star Challenge.

South Carolina: "It's the hometown school. I've always wanted to be a Gamecock and now that I have the opportunity, I just have to weigh my options and just make sure it's the best fit for me."

Georgia: "The way that coach Kirby Smart works with the DBs. He's a DB as well, so it's basically like having two DB coaches on the field, so when I was at the camp, he was talking about stuff that I need to do and work on."

Tennessee: "It was amazing. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It's a great place to be. The fan base [stood out]. Just walking around their campus, everybody was wearing their Tennessee colors. Even at camp, there were people watching and stuff like that."

Rivals.com ranks Smith as the No. 3 prospect in South Carolina and the No. 37 cornerback in the 2019 class.

"Me being a perfect fit for that program, that defense," Smith said in July of the important factors in his decision. "The importance for them to have me and obviously the home feeling, making sure I feel at home."
