Did Chaz Jackson Camp at Georgia

Forest City (N.C.) East Rutherford linebacker Chazeray Jackson is one of the top linebackers in North Carolina. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Jackson attended camps at both Clemson and South Carolina and had also named Georgia as one of his top schools. His plans were to attend the Bulldogs two-day camp in early July, but Jackson said he didn’t make the trip.
“I talked to them, and they told me it was okay that I didn’t get to go,” Jackson said. “They’re still one of my top teams.”

After attending the Clemson and South Carolina camps, Jackson said one stood out over the other.
“Basically, I didn’t get to know the coaches at South Carolina as well as I got to know the coaches at Clemson,” he said.
Pressed for a reason, Jackson said that it was probably because he had spent so much time at Clemson already. His camp there was his third visit to the school, and he believes the Tigers are close to offering him.
“Clemson is my leader right now,” Jackson said. “But that could change.”
If Jackson is going to change his mind, one potential catalyst might be a planned unofficial visit to Columbia next week.
“I’m going to go down there next Monday or Tuesday and talk to them,” Jackson said. “They wanted me to take a tour and get to know the place better.”
Jackson has an excellent combination of speed and strength for an outside linebacker. His 40 time is sub-4.5, and he’s also increased his bench press by 40 pounds this summer. His squat is an astounding 635 pounds. Jackson’s skills enabled him to make 20 tackles for loss and five sacks last season.
Many Gamecock fans may be glad to note that Jackson is being recruited by staff ace Dave Roberts. Next week, we’ll update you on Jackson’s Columbia visit with Roberts and will let you know if the Gamecocks offer him.
