The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder has been committed to South Carolina since March, but the uncertainty around the Gamecocks' coaching situation following the retirement of Steve Spurrier had Edwards considering other options.
South Carolina hopes to have a new coach announced by early December.
Edwards is considering Clemson and possibly other schools, according to sources.
Edwards is considered the No. 48 wide receiver in the country, the No. 219 overall prospect and the No. 4 prospect in South Carolina by Rivals.com
