South Carolina's storybook season continues.

The Gamecocks, behind their patented stifling defense and 24 points from Sindarius Thornwell, defeated Baylor 70-50 at Madison Square Garden Friday night to advance to the Elite Eight.

Chris Silva added 12 points and 7 rebounds.

South Carolina will face the winner of Friday night's contest between No. 4-seed Florida and No. 8-seed Wisconsin.
