Greensboro (N.C.) Northern Guilford three-star running back C.J. Freeman has been committed to South Carolina since March, but that hasn't stopped other programs from trying to pry him away from that pledge.
"Tuesday I'll be making my final decision between Louisville, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Georgia Southern," Freeman said. "I'm ready to get this process over with because I am an early enrollee. I have to do it kind of early because of the admission process for each school is really quick. Once I make my decision and get everything papered out, I'll be ready to go in January."
Freeman, who will announce that decision during a ceremony at 7:30 tonight, took his official visit to South Carolina over the weekend when he got an idea of how he would be used in new offensive coordinator Kurt Roper's system.
"He said he'd be running a spread offense, similar to the offense that I run now," Freeman said. "He said he'd be running the spread, one-back, possibly some two-back, and have an H-back in there too. It will be a nice, kind of upbeat offense. It will be a different offense than last season, he said. They said I'll be perfect in that offense, because that's what I ran in high school."
Freeman is considered the No. 15 all-purpose back in the country by Rivals.com.
