Florida defensive tackle likes USC

Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely defensive tackle Donte'e Nicholls is the No. 44 overall prospect in the Sunshine State this year, and claims 26 offers to his credit.
"Out of all my offers, I'd say I'm looking at schools like South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Arizona State the hardest," the 6-foot-2.5, 300-pound Nicholls said. "But I haven't eliminated any schools. I'm open to the schools that want to offer."

Nicholls, who racked up 70 tackles and nine sacks as a junior, likes what South Carolina has to offer.
"With Steve Spurrier, I've always been a fan of his," Nicholls said. "I've seen them on TV a few times, and I like their style on defense. Coach 'G' (Robert Gillespie) stays in touch with me a good bit, and I like how he talks to me. I know I want to get up there for a game this season."
The Florida Gators also rate highly on Nicholls' list.
"I know some of the players at Florida, and they've been telling me it's a good place to be. I went to football camp there my junior year, and met coach Urban Meyer when I was there. He had a lot of good things to say about what he wanted to accomplish there."
The Georgia Bulldogs have also attracted Nicholls' attention.
"Just the atmosphere and tradition at Georgia," he said. "They have a good coaching staff and a lot of great players in their program."
Miami is the final school Nicholls was asked to comment on.
"Miami is just a great program. They have some players from my school there, too. They have a tradition of winning championships and putting players into the NFL every year."
Nicholls, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.91 seconds, knows what he's looking for in a school.
"Good academics and a good area to live in for the next four or five years. I also want to look at the percentage of players each program puts in the NFL, and I want to play for a position coach that can get the most out of me."
While he knows what he's looking for in a school, knowing when he'll decide is a bit tougher.
"I really have no clue when I'm going to commit to someone. No teams are on top. A lot of schools look the same to me, so it's going to be tough to choose."
