Game balls: Georgia

There weren't many positive takeaways from South Carolina's blowout loss to Georgia Saturday, but a few individual performances stood out among others.

See which players, despite the score, had big days for the Gamecocks (1-1, 0-1 SEC).

Bryan Edwards

Edwards finished with seven catches for 111 yards, both just shy of career-highs, and two touchdowns, which was a career-high. Edwards' 44 yard touchdown catch was South Carolina's longest play of the day, and the longest catch of his career. Edwards' second-longest play, an 18-yard catch in the first quarter, was also South Carolina's second-longest play.

Deebo Samuel

Samuel had modest stats by his standards, just 33 yards on six catches, plus one carry for a loss of a yard. But he also threw a touchdown pass to Edwards, the second touchdown pass of his career. And when the South Carolina offense was moving the ball, one of the key reasons was Samuel taking multiple defenders with him to open up the field for others.

Keir Thomas

Thomas had five tackles, including a half-sack and half-tackle for loss. His sack forced a punt that briefly gave the Gamecocks life. He was one of the few Gamecock defenders that did not make any glaring mistakes.

Parker White

White connected on his only field goal attempt—a 26-yarder—and made both of his PATs. All four of his kickoffs went for touchbacks.
