Gamecocks a double-digit favorite over Marshall

The South Carolina Gamecocks are a 13.5-point favorite in Saturday’s game vs Marshall, according to VegasInsider.com

The Thundering Herd comes into Columbia with a 2-0 record following their 32-16 win over Eastern Kentucky, while the Gamecocks enter the week at 1-1 following a 41-17 drubbing at the hands of Georgia.

South Carolina will try to right the ship against Marshall, a school that carries a 1-0 record against the Gamecocks. Marshall won the only meeting 24-21 in 1998, a game that featured a game-winning field goal by Marshall as time expired. That game also followed a loss to Georgia and was the second contest in South Carolina’s infamous 21-game losing streak.

Saturday’s game at Williams-Brice Stadium (80,250) will kick off at 7:30 PM ET and will be televised on ESPNU.
