Gamecocks commit added to Shrine Bowl roster

Sumter (S.C.) Lakewood three-star South Carolina defensive end commit Tyreek Johnson has been added to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas roster, it was announced Friday morning.

The roster for the 80th annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas was revealed last month and the Gamecocks were well represented with 11 total selections to the North Carolina and South Carolina teams.

Since then, Johnson has been added while former commitment OL T.J. Moore has backed off his pledge, leaving the total number of commitments set to participate at 11.

Johnson has 79 tackles, including 20 tackles-for-loss and three sacks, along with six blocked kicks this season, according to The State. The 6-foot-4,

The Shrine Bowl will take place on Saturday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. inside Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg.
