Gamecocks commit makes big jump in Rivals250

South Carolina wide receiver commitment Chad Terrell is one of the country's top risers in the newly updated Rivals250 released earlier this week.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Dallas (Ga.) North Paulding was already considered a four-star prospect, but was outside of the Rivals250 prior to the most recent update when Terrell moved up to No. 188 in the country.

"A former two-sport athlete who impressed on the hardwood as well as the gridiron, the South Carolina commit flourished this fall, putting up some of the best receiving numbers in the state of Georgia,' Rivals.com recruiting analyst Woody Wommack said. "His ability to highpoint the ball is among the best in the class and he should have a chance to make an early impact in Columbia."

While the position rankings have not been updated, the new ranking should move Terrell up to the No. 32 wide receiver in the country. Terrell finished his senior season with 64 catches for 1,236 yards and 17 touchdowns.

South Carolina has four other commitments in the Rivals250: Ortre Smith, Hamsah Nasirildeen, Jamyest Williams and MJ Webb.

Nasirildeen, a four-star safety, recently moved up from just outside of the Rivals100 to the No. 95 overall prospect in the country.
