Gamecocks finish 6th in final Coaches Poll
The South Carolina Gamecocks finished 6th in the USA Today Coaches Poll following their historic run through the NCAA Tournament. The Gamecocks made their first ever Final Four before falling to Gonzaga in the National Semifinal.
South Carolina entered March Madness unranked (37th others receiving votes) in the Coaches Poll before a surge that saw the Gamecocks knock off Marquette, Duke, Baylor and Florida.
The Gamecocks finish behind North Carolina, Gonzaga, Oregon, Kansas and Kentucky, in that order. Their final win total of 26, was the most in school history.
