Gamecocks in the pros: Aug. 8-15

MLB

--Jackie Bradley Jr. went 4-for-20 (.2oo) with Boston. He had three runs and three RBIs. He also had a crazy double play Saturday. The outfielder's been in and out of the lineup due to soreness this week.

--Steve Pearce, who's also battling an injury, did not play for Baltimore from Aug. 8 to Aug. 12. He went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in the previous two games.

--Justin Smoak went 3-for-16 (.187) for Toronto with a home run, two runs and a RBI. He's hitting .138 this month.

--Sam Dyson made two one-inning appearances for Texas, giving up one hit and no runs. He picked up two saves, bringing his yearly total to 26.

Triple-A

--Christian Walker went 6-for-20 (.300) for the Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) with two runs and two RBIs. His average is up to .258 and he had a hitting streak spanning five games before it was snapped Saturday.

--Whit Merrifield hit 6-for-18 (.333) for the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City) with a run and two RBIs.

--Michael Roth did not start this week for the Round Rock Express (Texas).

--Bryan Harper was put on the Syracuse Cheifs' (Washington) 7-day disabled list. He last pitched on Aug. 6.

--Jordan Montgomery started one game for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees). He pitched six innings of shutout baseball, striking out eight. He earned the win and improves to 2-1 with a .98 ERA in Triple-A.

--Tyler Webb made one appearances for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees), pitching two innings and not allowing a hit. He walked one batter and struck out another.

Double-A

--Peter Mooney hit 4-for-13 (.307) for the Jacksonville Suns (Miami) with a run. He's hitting .333 since Aug. 3.

--Evan Marzilli batted 3-for-11 (.272) with the Mobile BayBears (Arizona) with a run.

--Joel Seddon won his fifth straight star for the Midland RockHounds (Oakland). He gave up one hit didn't allow a run over five innings.

--Grayson Greiner hit 1-for-9 (.111) with one run in three games for the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit).

--Evan Beal made two appearances for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Kansas City) with three innings pitched and didn't give up a run. He brought his ERA down to 3.21.

Single-A Advanced

--Kyle Martin went 6-for-24 (.250) for the Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia) with four runs and six RBIs. He's hit two home runs in the last two days, including a three-run shot yesterday.

--Tanner English went 2-for-17 (.118) and four walks with the Fort Meyers Miracle (Minnesota). He scored six runs and had two RBIs, brining his average up to .200.

--LB Dantzler hit 3-for-11 (.272) for the Dunedin Blue Jays (Toronto) with three runs and four RBIs.

--Joey Pankake was placed on the Lakeland Flying Tigers (Detroit) 7-day disabled list and hasn't played since Aug. 3.

--Max Schrock hit 9-for-28 (.321) for the Potomac Nationals (Washington) with three runs, three RBIs and a home run.

--Jack Wynkoop started and won one game for the Modesto Nuts (Colorado), giving up no runs on two hits in six innings. His record in Advanced-A is 5-2 with a 2.61 ERA.

--Taylor Widener made one appearance for the Charleston Riverdogs (Yankees), pitching four shutout innings and giving up two hits. He picked up the save and his ERA improves to 1.00 with Charleston.

Single-A Short Season

--Dom Thompson-Williams hit 5-for-22 (.227) with the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees) with four runs and three RBIs. He's hitting .162 since Aug. 4.

--Gene Cone went 9-for-27 (.333) with the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) with five runs and five RBIs. His average since Aug. 5 is .306.

Rookie Season

--Marcus Mooney with 8-for-28 (.286) with four runs and two RBIs for the Danville Braves (Atlanta).

--Matt Vogel pitched two perfect relief innings for the GCL Rays (Tampa Bay), striking out one batter.

--According to MiLB.com, Braden Webb has yet to make an appearance for the AZL Brewers (Milwaukee).
