Gamecocks in the pros: minor league wrap-up

MLB

Jackie Bradley Jr. went 7-for-22 (.318) this week for the first-place Boston Red Sox. He hit two homers and drove in four runs as Boston eyes another playoff berth.

Making four appearances since Sept. 6, Sam Dyson has one save in four combined innings. He has a 3.21 ERA since being picked up by the San Francisco Giants.

Whit Merrifield went 10-for-36 (.275) with five RBI and three stolen bases. He's hitting .285 this season for the Kansas City Royals as they sit five games back of the American Leauge Wildcard.

After being called up at the beginning of September, Jordan Montgomery is 1-0 in starts and gave up 12 earned runs while striking out 13 for the New York Yankees.

Steve Pearce hasn't played since Sept. 9 with a back injury. He's listed as day-to-day for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Justin Smoak went 6-for-22 (.273) with a home run and three doubles for the Toronto Blue Jays. He drove in four runs as the Blue Jays are 8.5 games back in the wildcard.

Finally on the Arizona Diamondbacks roster, Christian Walker hasn't gotten a hit in only two major-leauge at-bats this season.

Triple-A

Grayson Greiner was called up during roster expansion in September and went 2-for-14 (.143) in five games for the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit). He finished with two RBI.

Bryan Harper didn't play this year for the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington) after going through Tommy John surgery.

As a part of September call-ups, Evan Marzilli hit .264 for the Reno Aces (Arizona). He finished in Triple-A with a .355 OBP with five doubles, two triples and two homers with 18 RBI.

Peter Mooney finished hitting .213 for the New Orleans Baby Cakes (Miami) with a .290 OBP and 34 RBI. He also had 26 extra-base hits.

Michael Roth is on the seven-day disabled for the Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay). He last pitched Aug. 24 and has a 5.08 ERA this season.

After making his major-league debut with the Yankees and being traded to Milwaukee, Tyler Webb finished with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Milwaukee). He made nine appearances and had a 5.63 ERA.

Double-A

Kyle Martin hit .193 this season for the Reading Fightin' Phils (Philadelphia) He hit 22 homers with 68 RBI in his first season in Double-A.

Joel Seddon finished 3-4 with a 4.88 ERA this year for the Nashville Sounds and Midland RockHounds (Oakland). He had a .296 batting average against and a 1.49 WHIP.

Also playing for the Mildand RockHounds (Oakland), Max Schrock had a slash line of .321/.379/.422 this season. He had seven homers and 46 RBI.

Taylor Widener finished his season for the Trenton Thunder (Yankees). He had a 7-8 record for the Tampa Yankees and Trenton with a 3.39 ERA while also striking out 129.

Jack Wynkoop went 5-11 with a 4.44 ERA for the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado). He had a 1.28 WHIP and a .293 batting average against.

Single-A and lower

Evan Beal played for three teams and two organizations this season, finishing with the Greensboro Grasshoppers (Miami). He went 4-2 this year wit ha 2.39 ERA.

Gene Cone finished his first season in the South Atlantic League hitting .219 with 41 runs scored for the Columbia Fireflies (Mets).

In his first professional season, Wil Crowe had a 2.96 ERA in nine starts for the Auburn Doubledays and GCL Nationals (Washington). He had a 1.03 WHIP and 2.36 batting average against.

Alex Destino had a slash line of .290/.408/.432 with three home runs and 23 RBI for the AZL White Sox (White Sox).

Tanner English played for two teams this season: Chattanooga Lookouts and Fort Myers Miracle (Minnesota). HE hit .200 with 45 RBI and 50 walks. He scored 60 runs.

Playing for two teams this year, Tyler Johnson finished 1-1 with 3.86 ERA and 37 strikeouts for the Kannapolis Intimidators and the Great Falls Voyagers (White Sox).

Marcus Mooney hit .238 this season with 33 runs and 32 RBI for the Rome Braves (Atlanta).

Joey Pankake hit .195 and slugged .297 with 22 RBI for the Lakeland Flying Tigers (Detroit). He also scored 22 times.

Following Johnson to Kannapolis, John Parke finished the season throwing five innings and giving up one run for the Intimidators. He went 3-2 with 2.77 ERA for the AZL White Sox (White Sox).

Josh Reagan went 1-1 with a 2.03 ERA for the Vermont Lake Monsters (Oakland) with a 0.84 WHIP.

Dom Thompson-Williams finished the season with the Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees), hitting .244 overall with a .332 OBP. He also drove in 28 in 2017.

Being on a team that won the New York-Penn League, Matt Vogel went 1-5 with a 5.06 ERA in 18 games with the Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa Bay).

Braden Webb finished his first professional season going 6-7 with a 4.36 ERA in 13 starts for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee).
