Taylorsville (N.C.) Alexander Central defensive lineman Kyle Linney recently picked up his first three scholarship offers of the recruiting process.

"South Carolina, NC State, and East Carolina have offered me," the 6-foot-3, 275-pound Linney said. "I also like Clemson and Georgia."
South Carolina was the most recent team to offer Linney, who runs the 40-yard dash in 5 seconds flat.
"Coach Fred Chatham called me and let me know I had an offer from them," Linney said. "They have a strong program most every year, and I think I could be successful there."
NC State also has Linney's attention.
"NC State is my dad's favorite team, so I've been around them a good bit. They've been showing me a lot of interest here so far."
Clemson represents the only school Linney has visited in person thus far.
"I loved the atmosphere down there. They're showing a lot of interest in me, and they're one of my top schools even though they haven't offered me yet."
Linney, who bench presses close to 300 pounds, will choose the school he'll sign with based on three aspects of each program.
"What kind of football history they have, what kind of atmosphere there is to play in, and I'd like to stay pretty close to North Carolina."
Linney is in no hurry to make a decision.
"I probably won't commit to anyone until this fall. I want to take some visits this summer and go see some games at different places first. I'm pretty open minded right now."
