South Carolina kicked off its big recruiting weekend with a bit of a surprise when Columbia (S.C.) Ridge View offensive tackle Dennis Daley committed to the Gamecocks as a junior college placement.

That means the 6-foot-6, 280-pound Daley, who was a Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas participant, will spend two seasons at Georgia Military College before enrolling at South Carolina.
GamecockCentral.com is told that if South Carolina has a spot for Daley in the 2015 class to sign a National Letter of Intent, that Daley will sign and be placed at GMC. If no spot is available, he will simply enroll at GMC with designs on making it to South Carolina in the future.
Earlier this week the Gamecocks added an offensive tackle to its 2015 class when three-star Blake Camper switched his pledge to the Gamecocks.
Both prospects were recruited by offensive line coach Shawn Elliott.
The Gamecocks will host over 20 prospects on official visits this weekend.
