Gamecocks quarterback commit Ryan Hilinski scored five touchdowns

After a bye last week, South Carolina quarterback commit Ryan Hilinski picked up right where he left off Friday night.

The Orange (Calif.) Lutheran four-star prospect completed 15 of 19 passes for 206 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-16 victory over Heritage.

The 6-foot-4, 218-pounder has now completed 86 of 126 passes for 1,036 yards and 14 touchdowns through four games this season.

"Everything is going good. I'm just counting down the days until I can play in Williams-Brice, I can tell you that much for sure," Hilinski said last Friday during his appearance on the Gamecock Central Podcast. "Me and (quarterbacks) coach (Dan) Werner have been doing that every weekend. We'll say, 'Hey it's one week closer to playing on Saturday.' But I'm doing good. Started off the season pretty good."

Hilinski, ranked the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the 2019 class, committed to South Carolina in April and since has spent countless time recruiting others to join him in Columbia.

Hilinski will graduate in December and enroll at South Carolina in January.
