Georgia DL Kingsley Enagbare discusses signing with USC

Back in July, Will Muschamp and South Carolina picked up a big commitment from defensive lineman Kingsley Enagbare. It was a significant get not only because Enagbare plays a premium position, but because the Gamecocks were able to beat in-state suitor UGA for Enagbare's services.

After signing his letter of intent on Wednesday with South Carolina, Enagbare spoke in Atlanta with GamecockCentral.com to give the final take on his recruitment. Why did he choose the Gamecocks?

“Overall, the coaching staff and the feel of it. It gets you pumped every time you go over there, from the head coach to the weight coach, everyone is just excited," he said.

Enagbare's parents also seemed to prefer Columbia.

"They love the city, too. They love the plan that South Carolina has for me and the future I can possibly have there."

Muschamp laid out a clear vision for how the defensive staff will utilize Enagbare in the Gamecock defense.

Said Enagbare: "When I go there, I’m going to play mainly d-end, then on pass-rush downs they’re going to move me down to d-tackle to get some match-ups with the guard. He (Muschamp) is a defensive guru. He’s produced a lot of good defensive players in the NFL."

Enagbare will enroll at USC in January, and hopes to get a fast start with an eye towards playing time as a true freshman.

"Just getting adapted fast so I can be able to have an advantage," he said of his early goals. "I’m just looking forward to it."

The senior lineman finished the 2017 season with over 80 tackles and 16 sacks, helping Hapeville Charter to a 2A state championship in Georgia.
