Kingsland (GA) Camden County wide receiver Willie White, one of the best big wide receivers the Peach State has to offer in the class of 2007, has seen his offer list grow to three schools, including one from his childhood favorite.

"I picked up an offer from South Carolina today (Monday)," the 6-foot-4, 175-pound White said. "I've always kind of been a Gamecock fan because my dad grew up in Beaufort, S.C., so I was pretty excited about it. I also have offers from Florida State and Georgia Tech, and I'm looking hard at Florida, Auburn, and Georgia."
In fact, White traveled to Columbia over the weekend to visit the Gamecocks' campus unofficially, and liked what he found.
"I got in touch with Steve Spurrier Jr. as soon as I got there, and he showed me the stadium, the coaches' offices, and all that good stuff. He basically gave me a quick tour, and then we watched some film of their offense. Everything was so laid back, and I liked that."
White also liked how Spurrier Jr. interacted with him.
"I like how Coach Spurrier Jr. didn't try to pressure me to come there or anything. He just focused on all of the positives of their program and let them speak for themselves. He kind of treated me like I was already committed to them, so that was pretty cool."
White plans to learn more about the other schools that have offered in the coming weeks.
"I'm going to visit Georgia Tech this weekend to see what they're all about because I'm not as familiar with them," he said. "I love Florida State's tradition, but I've never been there, so I want to get something setup soon."
White will base his decision on three primary factors.
"Education, playing time and the environment," he said. "When I say environment, I really want to find a place where I feel at home."
White has no set timeframe for making his decision.
"I am truly wide open. I really have no clue when I might make a decision. If it hits me, then I'll do it. If not, I'll wait it out."
