Marietta (Ga.) Walton class of 2022 three-star offensive tackle Cason Henry took his first unofficial visit to South Carolina on Thursday after offensive line coach Greg Adkins and the Gamecocks offered late last month.

Put simply, the program checked all the boxes the big offensive tackle was looking for and he saw no reason to wait in locking in with a commitment to South Carolina, which he announced Saturday afternoon.

"It's obviously a relief because with this COVID year, I kind of had to jump at my chance with the Gamecocks," Henry said. "I went for a visit there and I loved everybody; I loved Coach (Shane) Beamer and I loved Coach Adkins and I loved the strength staff. The facilities were awesome, obviously, but I don't really care about that - I care about the people there. It just really clicked with me. It felt like home and the decision just made sense, so I was like, why would I wait?"
