Losing to Charleston Southern and The Citadel
* Gamecocks are 20-2 against non-conference opponents this season.
* The two losses are the first non-conference regular season games they lost back to back since doing it in 2012 against Francis Marion (4-5) and College of Charleston (3-4). Both of those games were played on the road and were played surrounding an SEC series against Mississippi State.
* The last time USC lost back-to-back non-conference games without an SEC game in between was in 2011 when Carolina lost game three of the series to CSU Bakersfield 8-3 in Columbia and then lost 4-2 to Furman in Greenville.
Gamecocks and The Citadel
